In Afghanistan he built an effective intelligence team and worked with all military services and over 30 international coalition partners. He was awarded the Bronze Star for service as a result of his efforts. His vision and direction led to doubled sales and dramatically increased profits as an owner of a manufacturing plant prior to his deployment.

Again, with nearly 20 years of experience John knows that people are the key to success.

He has practiced his consulting and training skills within his own organizations and military units as well as in such diverse organizations as Cooper Tire, GM Corvette Plant, Bridgestone, Jack Daniel Distillery, The Diocese of Nashville, the Association of Water Technologies, etc.
John served as the manager of the fastest growing department in a global communications firm. When he was brought on the department had one client and a dozen employees in support. He quadrupled both the business of the original client and added several other clients (including US Tobacco and MBNA America) while designing his department into a 24 hour operation with cross-trained employee teams. He added account managers and front line employees as necessary.
John has served as Operations Manager and General Manager in several manufacturing firms. In each one he developed safety and regulatory compliance and training programs from scratch. His strategic and marketing direction in one firm resulted in increased sales by 20%. In one firm he guided the Operations Department through a complete plant redesign and expansion.
As owner of a manufacturing firm he provided the vision and direction to nearly double the company’s sales within three years and to double plant capacity in order to support demand. Inherent in all of this was developing strong employees and teams and regular employee training. He also guided the plant to ISO 9001 certification.
In the military John has served as an Armor Officer, Military Police (MP) Officer and Intelligence Officer. He has served as a tank Platoon Commander, tank Company Executive Officer, Battalion Intelligence Officer, MP Company Commander, MP Battalion Assistant Operations Officer, and MP Battalion Operations Officer. In Afghanistan he served first as the Chief Intelligence Liaison Officer between the US Coalition and NATO forces with his own complete intelligence staff working “24/7.” He was then reassigned to a new higher level headquarters in Afghanistan as the Current Operations Intelligence Officer with the Joint Operations Center at Combined Forces Command Afghanistan.
As an MP Company Commander in the US and as an Intelligence Officer in Afghanistan he developed his unit or section from scratch and developed them into functioning high performing organizations that served with distinction in a combat zone. The MP Company he built and developed later served with distinction in Iraq in the heart of Baghdad’s toughest neighborhoods. When MAJOR Krenson builds something he builds it to last years after he’s gone.
He has earned numerous state and federal military medals and awards and credits every one of them to the leaders who mentored him and especially to all the troops who made him look good.

Now in his early 40’s John is married to Carrie Krenson and has two wonderful children, daughter Dasha and son Evan. He studies foreign languages, reads biographies, camps, and travels in his “spare” time and wishes he still had time to play his drums. John is a graduate of Marquette University. Take a look at our gallery of his experience in Afghanistan.
